Itineraries

Day 1

DAR ES SALAAM TO MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

Pick up from Airport or from your accommodation in Dar es salaam morning after breakfast and drive for 4 to 5 hrs. which range approximately 300 km Mikumi National Park. Lunch on the way in Morogoro town. When arriving in Mikumi you will enjoy evening Masai Boma Tour and traditional dance. Dinner and overnight at Camp Bastian

Day 2

HIKING IN UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS

The purpose of this day's trip is to show you the natural habitats in Udzungwa National Park. You will be picked from your hotel early in the morning for a drive to Udzungwa Mountains. After registering, you'll start climbing, taking the Sanje route in order to see the 4-stage waterfalls. Udzungwa is one of thirty-four world biodiversity hot spots. Here, you can expect to see primates, as Udzungwa has 11 primate species, two of which are found nowhere else in the world. Also, you may have the opportunity to see habituated Sanje mangabeys, different endemic plant species, birds, reptiles and amphibians, butterflies, waterfalls, etc. During evening you'll be back to Mikumi NP for overnight at Mikumi Bandas.

Day 3

FULL GAME DRIVE IN MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

You will have a sunrise game drive, starting from 06:30 am and will have breakfast at around 09.00 am. You'll then continue the drive with your box lunch. In Mikumi, you should expect to see animals such as lions, buffalo, giraffes, wildebeest, zebras, impalas, warthogs, elephants, hippos and more than 300 bird species.

Day 4

GAME ON ROUTE TO SELOUS GAME RESERVE

After breakfast you will begin your journey to Selous Game Reserve. You will enjoy a picnic lunch along the way. The journey will take you through the most unexplored and untouched areas in Tanzania. Upon arrival in the afternoon, you will embark on a boat safari where you will be able to view hippo and crocodile in their natural habitat. Later in the evening you will check-in at Selous Ngalawa Camp for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5

FULL GAME DRIVE IN SELOUS GAME RESERVE

Following the breakfast, you will go for Game Drive with a lunch box. There are huge numbers of elephant within the park. Roughly, seventy percent which is 60,000 of the total elephant population live within this reserve. Other popular animals are the hippos about 40,000 around the river systems, decreased numbers of black rhinos, numerous buffalos – more than 160,000, wild dogs in addition to 5,000 lions. In the evening you will return to your accommodation for some leisure and spend a night.

Day 6

WALKING SAFARI & VILLAGE TOUR

Today you will wake up early in the morning around 6:00 am and have a cup of coffee (option) then you will start a walking safari. The walks are guided and normally accompanied by an armed ranger. A walking safari is an excellent break from game drives, where visitors will learn some fascinating facts about nature, birds, reptiles, insects and medicinal uses of local plants, which you may not fully appreciate from the seat of your safari car. While the scents and sounds of the African bush are better sensed on foot, it is without doubt an adventure and a thrilling experience especially when the walk extends into wildlife habitats where encounters with freely roaming animals are the norm like in the Selous. At 8:00 you will go back to your accommodation for full breakfast then followed by village tour around 9:30 am. During village tour you will be able to enjoy Local tradition dance, learn different ways of prepare local food from inhabitants etc.

Day 7

SELOUS GAME RESERVE TO KILWA

Today you will be leaving The Selous Game Reserve and heading to Kilwa. This journey will begin after having breakfast at your accommodation in Selous. The journey will take about 5-6 Hours via Kibiti village and you will have enough time to explore different atmosphere and culture of inhabitants. When arriving at Kilwa you will check in at Kilwa Dreams Beach Resort and spend a night.

Day 8

KILWA ACTIVITIES

After breakfast you will go for different activities in Kilwa, start with a rich bird life that is worth studying, visit Hippo pool or you can also visit UNESCO’s world heritage site (Songo Mnara) at Kilwa kisiwani. The remains of two great East African ports admired by early European explorers are situated on two small islands near the coast. From the 13th to the 16th century, the merchants of Kilwa dealt in gold, silver, pearls, perfumes, Arabian crockery, Persian earthenware and Chinese porcelain; much of the trade in the Indian Ocean thus passed through their hands.

Day 9

DEPART TO DAR ES SALAAM

Today will be the last day of your safari package and therefore our representatives will drive you all the way to Dar es salaam. Upon arrival in Dar es salaam you will be dropped off to Airport, Ferry or to your accommodation which mark the end of your safari with us.
